Historically speaking, Spark has not been high on the list of things you want to taste. So far ranging from pretty damn horrible to not quite so horrible, but not to good, the power contained in Spark has really been the savior. That being said, Cherry is actually ok. On its own the flavor would be nothing to draw anybody in, and definitely not something I would drink for the joy of it. Tasting somewhat like a sugar free cherry Now-And-Later candy there is some appeal….unfortunately the artificial sweetness really does me in. It’s got that weird after taste that I just can’t stand and the smell is much like that of the other flavors, only it doesn’t seem so strong. There is still the hint of vitamins in each sip, but everything seems a bit less subdued than in the other flavors…it’s actually better…not that being better is much of an achievement in this case….it’s kind of like saying how dog food tastes better to a dog than when it’s licking its own butt.
As I said before, the power of Spark is its savior…this stuff rocks. Before working out or playing sports I’d definitely be mixing up a packet of Spark to get me going and keep me moving. 120mg of caffeine is far more than enough for someone who is used to energy drinks, and probably an overkill for anyone not used to large amounts of caffeine…really this stuff is like rocket fuel. You get a big burst of power out of a small little package, and it can be mixed with water, or something with a bit of flavor like fruit juice or Gatorade (which I would highly recommend.)
Spark Cherry is a major improvement in taste from the other flavors in the Spark line. It is by far the way to go if you are just mixing with plain water, and it would probably be the better of the group when mixing with juices as well, but since I have not tried I can’t really stand by that.
