Got this baby shipped to me all the way from France, so don’t count on getting your hands on it here in the states.  Now from the name and the can I got the very distinct impression that this was going to be another drink along the lines of the Shock products meaning coffee or mocha based…boy was I way off.  The base flavor is actually that of Red Bull, so it’s very familiar, but this is not your ordinary Red Bull knock off…

Morning Café is what I would consider a highly refined Red Bull….very similar in taste, but just…well….better.  The vitamin like part of RB is gone…the weird after taste is gone, and any sharpness is, you guessed it, gone.  The over all flavor has a bit of a flowery sweetness instead of the syrupy sweetness you’d get from something like Shark.  If Morning Café was sold here in the states it would most definitely replace Red Bull for me, I just find it more drinkable…and that’s saying something because I do like RB.

The power of Morning Café is nothing really to write home about.  It’s right there where you would expect it to be.  Not to weak, not overly strong…right about average.  Normally this might detract a bit for me, but since it actually tastes so good I kind of let the lack of originality slide a bit in the power department.  I’d probably be more inclined to drink this stuff just because I like it rather than because I need a massive energy boost anyway.

I wish there was more I could say about this stuff, but aside from further perfecting an already familiar taste, there isn’t to much to say…other than I’m not a fan of the can.  Something about a seemingly gay black dude holding a rat-dog on one side and picture of an every day average looking lady that seems like it was cut from a Sears photo shoot on the other that just didn’t quite make sense to me.  Still, it’s from another country, and their marketing makes a lot more sense to them then it would here…I’m guessing that all the “Extreme” bullshit we use to market our crap makes as little sense to the folks in France than this would to us.
