I have to admit, I’m really starting to like these berry drinks. In the past I was never really big on them, but either folks are starting to do them right, or my taste buds are changing. Whatever the case, BooKoo Wild Berry is a pretty successful step away from the norm for me. There are tiny hints of different berries in the flavor of this stuff, but over all my brain focuses on the raspberry. As a matter of fact, most of the time all I can taste is something that reminds me a LOT of the Jell-O raspberry fruit bars….and that’s a good thing. The drink itself has kind of a thick feel to it with just a slight bite towards the end. Over all it’s actually pretty smooth and easy to drink. There is nothing medicinal or horribly artificial about it and it probably has the most flavor of the three BooKoo drinks I have tried recently. If you like any of the Boston America stuff (Spaz Juice, OCC Energy Drink, Stewie’s Mind Erase Elixir) then BooKoo Wild Berry is definitely the way to go. The flavor is better, and you get twice the drink for your cash which is always a big plus. Something interesting I found about Wild Berry is that drinking it ice cold is not necessarily the best way to go about it. While most drinks usually start tasting worse as they warm up Wild Berry actually starts tasting a bit better. I found I actually preferred it cool over cold…basically after pulling it out of the fridge and letting it sit for an hour the flavors seemed much more pronounced and the drink seemed a bit smoother over all…just personal preference I know, but as I said before most drinks really seem to go down hill at that point.
BooKoo Wild Berry works about like BooKoo Bite. As I mentioned before the Citrus BooKoo seemed to give me a bit more kick…not really sure why, but Wild Berry just didn’t feel quite that strong….but still it’s definitely not at all weak. 1 can should be a great eye opener in the morning, but probably won’t keep you powered all through the night. It’s good for boost here and there, but if you need serious power there are other means of going about it. (BooKoo has small 5.75oz “Power Shot” cans that I will be reviewing soon which could be the answer there.)
Basically what we have here is a good tasting drink that tries to stray from the norm and does so pretty successfully. If you like raspberry, or just the sweeter drinks in general, give this one a shot for sure!
